Auxiliaries Endowment

The Auxiliaries Endowment was created in 1999 by the Auxiliaries of Lucile Packard Children’s Hospital. For more than 80 years, the continuous financial support and untiring efforts of this committed group of volunteers has enabled Packard Children’s Hospital and its predecessors to remain open to all children in need of medical services. The Auxiliaries Endowment is funded by auxiliary members’ bequests to the Children’s Hospital (read the story of Hollis Yerington Drake, a founding donor).

Each year, payout from the Auxiliaries Endowment supports pioneering initiatives and high-priority services and programs for children. Examples of projects supported by the Endowment include:

  • Cystic Fibrosis research
  • Patient education program
  • Spanish-speaking chaplaincy
  • Care-A-Van transportation services for family
  • Video conferencing for medical interpretation services
  • Renovations to family lounges
  • Information kiosk and child-friendly accessories in new outpatient clinics

You can read about the Auxiliaries Endowment in the Accolades newsletter (PDF).
